Care:

Forge Black Iron

Iron is usually rusty. To prevent this process, we advise:

1) Always store iron objects in a dry environment
2) avoid contact with chemicals, acids
3) use them regularly
4) regularly clean them with moisture and dust using brushes and rags
5) slightly warm iron jewelry, periodically rub with beeswax
6) you can use transparent varnish.

All iron will rust when exposed to moisture. Your body will keep the iron dry when you wear it, but wearing it will also begin to wear away the protective layers.

We protect the iron by heating it in a forge until the surface turns black. After this, we pour the iron into the oil. The oil burns on the surface and coats the black oxide with a glossy layer that repels moisture and helps hold the oxide in place.
The third layer is a beeswax based polish.
This is the layer that needs to be applied more often, especially after wearing the pendant and before storing it. You can use beeswax furniture varnish or leather varnish.

Waxing is more important when the black color begins to wear off the pendant.
